A big lunch? 3 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 2
I understand that it is better to have a big breakfast, and lunch and a smaller dinner. This is a good way of putting on weight, as the food in the evening is not stored as fat. However, after living in China for 7 years, I have noticed that my Chinese colleagues and customers get very sleepy after lunch, partly because they are eating more for lunch than for breakfast.

I've walked around client offices around 1 pm, and seen rows of sleeping staff at their table. I can't help but think that this will demotivate an organisation.

So what are your thoughts on lunch meals? Light meals, or heavy?

I know light lunch is healthier than heavy lunch, but I always eat much for lunch.
In the morning, I don’t have enough time for a big breakfast. I’d rather save the time for more sleep. Therefore, I just eat a piece of bread or some snacks for breakfast.
As far as I know, in Clarkmorgan, most cities have aiyi who cooks for us. Especially in GZ, our aiyi can cook fairly delicious food so that we cannot help eating a lot. Hence, after lunch, it’s very common to see a group of sleepy people.
This topic is really interesting and meaningful. After I read it, I told all my colleagues in GZ office. We had a hot discussion and the conclusion is that we agree on light lunch but we cannot get rid of the bad habit of eating much for lunch.

I would say, lunch is my favorite meal of the day, I can eat a lot! My dad used to tell me that:” For breakfast, eat well; For Lunch, eat more; for dinner, eat less." So I totally agree with "Big Lunch"! However, I don’t have the habit to take a nap after lunch, because I would feel sick after the nap!
Our Ayi is good!!!

I think part of the original poster's concern is the sleepiness during lunch time.

Well, don't be concerned. Many cultures do it. Siesta, afternoon nap, power nap, the 12 o'clock snooze, or what ever you call it is good for your health!

If you search the internet you will find that a quick nap after lunch will improve your afternoon mental prowess and even your longevity on this planet. So please don't knock it unless you've tried it.

OK, back to sleep now...

Which companies do Siesta? Mexico, Spain...any others? These countries are hardly leading the world in productivity, technology and quality of life.

Also, please list those websites that state that sleeping after a meal is good for you. It may be as accurate as the site I found on Alien abductions.
