I'm moving to Guangzhou. I've spent 7 years, mostly in Shanghai, and a little in Beijing, and so am excited about exploring this new city. I'll be living near my office in Tianhe, and was wondering what activities I can do in Guangzhou. For example, aside from shopping and eating (which I can do anywhere), are there any unique 'Guangzhou activities' that I should prepare for? Beijing has skiing, what does Guangzhou have?

I dont know much about GuangZhou but I know that badminton is extremely popular in the city. National and international level competitions are often hosted in Tianhe Gymnasium.

I would like to know what I can do on the weekend, apart from shopping and Karaoke.
